The Move to Chicago
Al got married to Mary Josephine Coughlin on December 30, 1918. Three months
earlier though, she gave birth to their kid, Albert Fransis Capone. He wanted to
make a better life for them so he decided to move to Chicago. He wanted to do it
by himself though, so he could have a stable job and nice house before his wife
and kid came. Al Capone worked really hard to make a better life for him and his
family, even for people he didn't know. He was big into donating for charity,
had soup kitchens, and tried to help children get healither.

their leader died, Johnny Torrio took over, leaving Al Capone as his right hand
man, after earning his respect with many inside jobs; such as hurting someone
who he didn't like or selling drugs to people. After Johnny died, he took over
control of the gang. He was know to be a ruthless killer and to be one of the
best at what he did, he was even better than Johnny, when he took the reins. They
ran speakeasies, horse and race tracks, gambled on horses, bootlegging, and
restaurants. Making a lot of money, around 60-100 million dollars a year (1), he
usually wore colorful suits, odd jewlery such as rings, or hats.
